Caring For Your Curly/Wavy Extensions

Caring For Your Curly/Wavy Extensions

In this blog I want to discuss how you can restore your curly/wavy extensions and day-to-day maintenance.

When we have in textured hair we often become obsessed with the freedom of it. We feel so free we skip daily upkeep (I get it). Here are a couple tips I have to keep your extensions flawless.

Step 1: Section the hair so that you’re getting full coverage.

Step 2: Get a spray bottle with lukewarm water (not cold) mix in some conditioner. Preferably leave-in conditioner. I recommend fructis leave-in conditioner. Do not use any products containing sulfate.

Step 3: Take one section and spray it thoroughly. Make sure you have that section completely saturated.

Step 4: Brush the section with a paddle brush from THE ENDS working your WAY UP. If you brush from the top first you can cause tangling/shedding. You can even use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush if you’d like. Refrain from using small tooth combs on textured extensions.

Step 5: Repeat These Steps In The Other Sections.

Step 6: Grab a towel and scrunch your hair from the ends pushing up. Not only does this help absorb the water you just applied to the hair it enhances the pattern.
the last step is to add some fructis leave-in conditioner or (any cream based leave-in).

NEED ON-THE-GO TIPS? I Got You Covered.

Step 1: Mix lukewarm water and leave-in conditioner in a spray bottle, spray thoroughly. (You can even run your hair under the shower instead of using a spray bottle). If you use the shower just simply finger comb in some conditioner after your shower.

Step 2: Use a paddle brush, brushing thoroughly, from the ends working your way up. You can even use a wide tooth comb or finger comb instead.

Step 3: Use a towel and scrunch the hair from the ends pushing up. This adds definition and really restores your natural texture. Along with absorbing the water you just applied to the hair.
